The Battle of Manila had been an act of war, and of malice, intended to show the US what its invasion of Japan would cost in human grief. It was so abhorrent a tactic, so shameful, it required a post-war campaign of denial and revisionism, by myth and memes to cleanse its intent. The book features articles by Dr. Ricardo T. Jose, Richard B. Meixsel, Peter C. Parsons and Paul F. Whitman, placing the battle into its historic perspective. It is set against the letters to home of an ordinary serviceman, who was working as a minor NCO in MacArthur's office in Manila City Hall.

Through the Corregidor Historic Society and, more recently the 503d PRCT Heritage Regiment., Paul presents thirteen publications, all connected in some way with Corregidor and the US Armed Forces in the SWPA during WWII. He started developing the Corregidor.Org website about the 1941-42 siege and the 1945 retaking of Corregidor as, so he calls it, a 'penance' for his career as an insolvency lawyer. Now retired, he has produced ten websites, more than twenty Military History books, and has co-produced, with Peter Parsons, the documentary of the 1945 retaking of Corregidor - "CORREGIDOR - THE ROAD BACK. He married Rosie in 1980, has three adult children, and hates cats. Lately, he has indulged his muse as a photographer and design-layout creator, authoring several books he calls "frolics" - personal retrospectives. Though highly individual, he doesn't expect them to sell as do his military books, so he has set them on "full preview" so you can get to enjoy them free.
