From global brand status at its peak in the 1850’s the Sheffield Cutlery industry has fought to maintain its integrity and to survive. As it enters the 21st Century a group of master crafts people strive to produce knives and flatware which rival those of former times. With ingenuity and commitment they succeed in producing a remarkable range of innovative and quality products.

This photo-documentary, conducted over a ten-year period, has had unprecedented access to the crafts men and women of the City producing a graphic and insightful record of their activities and craft.

Photographer, Martin Pick, has produced this work as a self funded project. He is internationally collected and published and is an Arts Council Visiting Artist Alumni.
