The Way of the Cross draws from traditional meditations on the suffering of Christ developed during the late Middle Ages and made popular by
Franciscan communities.
The pastels in this series were done in Autumn on Highland Drive overlooking Highland Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The season is Autumn,
the finale of nature and the beginning of God’s gift to us.
