Informazioni sul libro
The For Great Justice Project was a project that enabled students to become activists in their local communities. At the start of the project, students were asked to choose an issue they were passionate about. Topics were as varied as the students’ interests and included animal abuse, autism, teen pregnancy, global warming, and sex education. From there, each person was grouped with two to three other students of similar interests. Each group was then tasked with finding an organization in the San Diego area that worked to address their social issue. Every student completed ten hours of community service with their organization throughout the semester, either with their group or individually. In addition to this, each student interviewed either someone at their organization or another individual working for the cause in order to write an informational article about the state of their issue in the San Diego community. These articles have been published in this magazine. The overall goal of this project was for students to be both aware of these social issues and inspired to become activists about the things they care about.
