Photographer David Dempsey takes on a challenging photographic experiment with the goal of producing a quality black and white photo-book. The subject of the experiment was fairly straight forward — a footbridge in Ireland that walkers and pedestrians use. The experiment was as follows — take thirty-six digital images (similar to a roll of camera film) of the bridge one evening and set a time restriction of thirty minutes. Then take another thirty-six photos early the following morning, with the same thirty minute time slot. The idea is that David would have to really think about the light, subject matter and composition as well as working within a restrictive timeframe. That’s one hour in total with a restriction of seventy-two digital images. Then the easy bit ! — Go make a photobook with the resulting photos. Thirty-eight photos made the final selection and are included in the book. I hope you enjoy it.
