Robert K Wilson was born in Ayr, Scotland, UK.

He studied Graphic design and Photography followed by a pure photography course becoming a member of the British Institute of Professional Photographers.
Robert joined an Edinburgh based commercial photographers and spent four years producing high quality architectural and commercial photography.

He then opened his own studio in the centre of Edinburgh working mainly for Advertising Agencies and Design Groups.
He was mainly studio based but assignments have taken him to Germany, Spain, Hong Kong, Japan, Denmark and Cuba.

At the end of the 1990s, Robert spent almost three years living in Santiago de Chile shooting campaigns for Advertising Agencies.
During his time in Chile, he was presented with the advertising photographer of the year award. Robert has almost completely retired from commissioned work and has turned his attention to his personal photographic projects.
