Biografia Alfred Harrell was reared in the eastern North Carolina town of Belhaven where at John A. Wilkinson High School he penned his first poem “I Am” in George Wahab his high school English teacher’s class. Over the years he wrote occasionally as a coping mechanism for the issues of his life.

In 2007 he started publishing some of his poems and comments about life as he perceives it on his first blog The Power Of Words and Black Men Making A Difference which he eventually combined into his current blog Verbal Xpression verbalxpression.blogspot.com.

He now resides in Greensboro, NC where he is the Organizer of a very progressive poetry meetup group Triad Poetry Meetup meetup.com/triadpoetry dedicated to encouraging, educating, empowering and entertaining residents of the Piedmont Triad.
