Every Family is Different is a self-published children's book designed to inspire children and the adults around them to engage in meaningful discussions about their own family experiences. It is both broad and focused, allowing for children to be prompted to authentically engage in such discussions. While heavily intended for child and family therapists to use in their work with clients, Every Family is Different can be used by anyone who cares for children. The book is designed to be read to young children and read by young readers in early-to-mid elementary school.

Every Family is Different is inspired by the unique life stories of myself and my cats. My life story was hardly represented in the media I consumed while growing up, inspiring a lifelong dream of mine to create a children's book for increased representation of unique families. My own story, and the stories of how my six cats came to be in my life, especially inspire the book's illustrations.
