I immigrated to Toronto from Kingston Jamaica. I am the mother of two, a son and daughter, and resides in Ontario, Canada. Shortly after completing studies in Dietary Supervision, I was assigned a work placement in a Toronto hospital and then a seniors residence and then secured employment as a cook for a children's daycare facility. My interest in writing a cookbook was due to my passion for Jamaican cuisine, and creative writing, and further peaked by my daughter's request for the recipes of her favourite Jamaican & Canadian dishes. In my current position, I am an administrative assistant, and spends most of my free time putting the finishing touches on a work of fiction, a novel, which I plan to publish in the near future.
