As we live our lives certain events are engraved in our memory. This is a compilation of the memories that persist in my mind. The purpose of this effort is to record these events in hopes that they might be found interesting to some of my grandchildren sometime in the future when I am no longer on the scene. I consider myself to be one of the luckiest people on the face of the earth. I dedicate this epistle to Jacqueline Marie Richert Self the love of my life and to the six children that have made me extremely proud: Linda Marie Self Husers, James Randall Self, Paula Ann Self Michalko, Barbara Leigh Self Brashear, Richert Leland Self, and Robert Warren Self.
