This is the story, in as few words as possible, of a Russian woman who has a bowl of soup but no bread, and the people around her who refuse to ameliorate, or even acknowledge her dilemma. The illustrations were drawn on location in cafes, and on various modes of public transportation (the latter being awful venues in which to consume soup, but great places to sketch) in and around Moscow, Russia.
