About the Artist, Matt Starr I have been an artist since starting to draw as a young boy. I branched out with watercolors. I give a big thank you to my sister-in-law, JoLynne, also an artist, who inspired me to paint with acrylics and oils. From there my art world took off! I paint many of my favorite subjects, landscapes, wildlife, animals, birds, sunsets, seascapes, winter scenes, barns, fish, flowers, food and more. I like to also paint on saws, milk cans, bowling pins, etc. Once I painted a haunted house sign that was on a canvas three stories tall! I also carve and paint life size 'fish decoys' from wood. My favorite medium is acrylics, watercolors and pen & ink. My bobwhite quail painting was selected in a special Wingspan Fan Art pack of game cards. I published a book called “Wings and Blossoms Across America” with all 50 of my state bird and flower paintings. I did the illustrations in the second edition of the children's book "Chippy Squirrel".
