I started my career writing reading primers and teachers' guides for a small publishing company, then was lucky enough to get into a burgeoning new profession called technical writing before anyone knew what skills would be necessary. I've spent the last 30 years writing user documentation, developing technical proposals and marketing communications for IBM, AT&T and GTE, now Verizon. Today I work out of my home as a freelance writer, developing collateral and sales enablement materials for technical companies. When I'm not at my computer, which is increasingly brief, I am attending to my three children, who are mostly grown, two dogs and one husband. I love cooking, decorating and gardening, in short, exercising my creative side away from my desk.
