Going through my parent's estate, we found my mother, Betty Evans' final book. Rue Lepic Paris Memories by Betty Evans shares her story as an American newlywed in Post-World War II Paris. She and my artist father were among those who traveled there on his GI Bill benefits. They lived in a studio on Rue LePic, above a theater, with three other GI artists. The story is framed around a collection of recipes tied to memories from their historically significant and unique experience as the real American Artists in Paris. The book includes her suggestions for visiting Paris with hotel and restaurant information. Paris sketches by Gordon Evans add to the charm of this volume.
