Informazioni sul libro
An analysis of the oral tradition in Madagascar as represented through the mystical, yet historical, tale of the Masikoro people. Murder, revenge, a virgin sacrifice all lead up to a magical tree that continues to grow as a veritable grove of trees. A fascinating tale with pictures and personal anecdotes to bring you to the courtyard of Fihamy. Great for adventurous spirits and those who dare to believe the impossible!

Emily Ewins has a BA in both French and International Cultural Studies from Humboldt State University in Northern California. For her thesis project, she spent three weeks in Toliara researching the oral tradition in Madagascar as represented through the history of Fihamy and the Masikoro people. Both educational & entertaining, her book includes a brief cultural history, as well as the extended version of the tale including common variations and other miraculous events.
