Having been born and raised in as culturally diverse and politically outspoken environment as San Francisco, CA I was exposed to and educated by a great many points of view.But this slippery social landscape has made it difficult for me to find my footing and I feel I have always treaded a line,be it socially between one group or another or artistically,between commercial aesthetics or fine-art/conceptual works. I was raised Jewish,but attended an independent Catholic school from fourth grade though eight grade.I played sports for a high school more known for its shops and academics than athletics.And in college many of my good friends were in Greek houses while I searched for a more independent route. My work often reflects this wandering,this outsider-looking-in perspective.This existential sensibility is no accident.I am often looking through a lens to see what I might compare myself with, to see what I might have lost or what I can gain.Or just to look for another's sense of self.
