About YorkArts

YorkArts was founded by area artists and community members in 1990 to support local artists in all disciplines and to make the arts accessible to all members of our community. To accomplish this, an arts center containing a premier exhibition gallery, children’s classrooms, pottery studio, and artist/musician studios was created in downtown York at 10 North Beaver Street in 1997.


Our Mission: To support the arts as an important part of our community through awareness and education.


Recognized as a leading cultural partner, YorkArts offers individuals engaging and accessible opportunities to discover and connect with their creativity. A focused effort is made to reach at-risk children in the city of York. This is accomplished through art making activities that teach social skills, respect for others, group decision-making, teamwork and positive self-expression.
