On January 5, 2010, a weather balloon was launched in eastern Colorado carrying an off-the-shelf Canon SD800is camera. It flew to 93,600 feet above the surface of the Earth taking photos once per minute. Meanwhile, a chase ensued on the ground as my friends and I followed intermittent GPS location updates from the craft. After recovering the camera unscathed, we were delighted to see these fantastic photographs that it captured from the Edge of Space.
