Informazioni sul libro
Depending who you ask, Artforum is, … well, it depends who you ask.
Its importance to the development of contemporary art (directly in the USA, indirectly from there to points wider) is, however, undeniable – particularly with regards to practices that originated in the early to mid-seventies in New York City.
The Press is, indeed, impressed. We assume there is a formula that they have been following, a secret behind their method. So, we spent the last five-some years carefully studying the magazine to find that elusive formula.
Herewith, volume 1 (of 6) of the results.

Parasitic Ventures Press is a press interested in artists’ books. By our definition, an artists’ book is a highly mutable form, which connotes a contextual framework within which a work is produced rather than as a particular physical form. As Johanna Drucker has stated, the two structural elements of a book are finitude and sequence. We agree. Our interest is in artists’ books that extensively use text as a medium. We are intrigued by the possibilities inherent in the subversion of text, particularly when the source text is of the ‘found’ variety.
