Informazioni sul libro
Over thousands of years of living and traveling on the ocean and inland waterways of what is now called Maine and the Maritime Provinces, the Wabanaki people developed a highly evolved, perfectly adapted type of birchbark canoe for this area. Wabanaki, or "People of the Dawn Land," is the collective designation given to the Penobscot, Passamaquoddy, Maliseet, Mi'kmaq, and Abenaki tribes.
Following my passion to research, study, build, document, and paddle the most beautiful canoe to grace the northern waters, I would like to share with you this compilation of teachings and knowledge pertaining to the building and paddling of these traditional Native canoes of the Maritime Region.
