Born (1955) and raised in the North of Holland, moved to Amsterdam in 1980. Still live there. Started my professional live as a ships cook, deckhand, later studied at the Academy of Arts, worked as a visual artist for years until I got involved in this slightly off-beat research bureau, which I'm the owner off. Live with & love my wife Fren. Have had a life long fascination for the sea, ocean, ships, cities, endless walks, people, books, films, art, history, women, historic black and white footage in general and that of the second World War in particular, and many, many things more...
