Informazioni

Audrey Stockin Eyler taught English for more than forty years, nearly thirty of them at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. The University readily supported both her literary research and this archival art project.

Their eldest granddaughter, Audrey was five when Willard and Aimee moved the cow out of the small barn on her parents' place next to the HC campus, magically turned the haymow into a studio, and replaced the stanchion with a kitchen counter. Uncle Paul helped his father build the field-stone fireplace and high sleeping loft. She loved trailing her mother, Marjorie to the art lab. Aunt Aileen's daughter, cousin Eila, had an easel set up in her own art-play-room. Art was both enchanting and taken for granted, as treasures of childhood can be. Yet a predisposition was created, for the turpentine memories are happy and informed ones. It took some distance to appreciate the worth and privileged responsibility in preserving something of their source.
