In addition to her time as the Bulb Gardening Editor for BellaOnline, she has also written content for plantingflowerbulbs.com, an informative gardening site covering various types of flower bulbs, and is currently one of the lead garden writers for Gardening Know How. She also provides copy editing services for Lesson Pathways, an educational site for home-schooling families.

Nikki also writes on a variety of other topics relating to her personal experiences. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, genealogy, and spending time with her family. Nikki resides in North Carolina (USA) with her children, one of which is a writer as well. In addition to being a preschool teacher, Leslie Phipps enjoys writing children's books in her spare time.
