GARY REED, Photographer     In my teenage years I was always fascinated about how things worked. My love for science and art allowed me to see a different type of world. My mind was open. During my free time when I wasn't working with my father helping repair a television or an electrical item, I would spend my time going to movies, listening to music, and going to museums. Through movies and museums I fell in love with the visual arts. My mother and father must have noticed my new interest. One day my father, Joseph Reed, showed me some illustrations he had done of an African-American Santa. My father went on to explain how his father ( Joesph Reed SR ) owned a greeting card business that published holiday cards for the African-American community. My grandfather had to sell his business because of the Great Depression. Just as I became more aware of my creative heritage, my uncle Ronnie had returned from Vietnam and decided to attend art school. This further stirred my interest in t
