Informazioni sul libro
Now in the collection of the National Gallery Canada Library and Archives and the Nova Scotia Art Gallery library. 8x10 inches, Soft Cover, 94 pages on premium luster paper.
From 2019 to the summer of 2021 and beyond the world suffered through the Covid crisis, a pandemic that spread panic and fear across continents, cities and towns. The human race for the first time in a century faced the unbelievable challenge of coming together to treat the sick, bury their dead and produce vaccines that would improve their collective plight.
While the rest of the world was in lockdown essential workers continued to provide the necessities of life. In the small, mostly rural province of Nova Scotia, Canada, artist Mark Brennan worked through the pandemic in a county hospital. His task to replenish much needed medical supplies including protective gowns, masks and face shields to front line workers.
During these anxious and unforgettable months, he searched each day for meaning through the camera, travelling the landscape of his local area during lockdowns to find hope and compassion, and to record some semblance of meaning and beauty during those long hard months.
