This book contains 38 of Michael's black and white photographs made in Lisbon in the fall of 2022. Each photograph is 5 by 7.5 inches and on a separate page. If you have been to Lisbon, hopefully the photographs included can take you back, in some measure, to the experience of being there. I you have not been to Lisbon, perhaps the work included here will motivate you to book a trip there or to some other interesting destination.

Among the jurors selecting Michael’s photographs for exhibitions, publication, and awards were the curators of photography for the Philadelphia Art Museum, the New Mexico Museum of Art, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and a consulting curator in the photography department at the National Gallery of Art, Washington. His photographs have been selected for group exhibitions around the country and have been selected for recognition in national and international competitions including the International Photography Awards, the Px3 Prix de la Photographie Paris, the Worldwide Photography Gala, the Pollux Awards, and the Black and White Spider Awards. Portfolios of his work were selected for publication in COLOR Magazine, and in the Center of Fine Art Photography’s Portfolio Showcase Volume IV and Portfolio Showcase Volume V.
