This volume of the series on kata bunkai deals with the Kata Unsu and its applications. The Shotokan Kata Unsu is compared with the Kata Unshu from the Shito Ryu and the Aragaki style. It is demonstrated that Unsu (Shotokan) is almost certainly not from the Arakaki (Niigaki) school. For the major part, advanced applications are presented and illustrated by over 420 figures created with the help of three-dimensional graphics software. Special consideration was given, as usual in the book series, to the kyusho applications, which are explained in detail. Also, in an appendix, the reader will find an overview of the meridians to understand the relationship of sensitive points with the Chinese acupuncture system. Also, the most important points of kyusho are presented in concise graphics.
Even though the Kata Unsu belongs to the advanced katas, the reader with less experience will easily understand the background of its application.
