This catalogue contains some pieces made for my first book, “Pipe Ace: Learning from a Sketch”, published in 2017.

Statement from when these pieces were made:

As a young mind, I am in the middle of two subjects: my existence and my learning path. My art right now is the first bullet point of, hopefully, many to come. The paintings and drawings I work on focus on me getting better, but specially in delivering a clear message through iconography.

To achieve what I want to express, I consider the message I want to deliver. Once I have that message in just one sentence, I consider icons and expressions that lead to it as if it were a hidden message. Sometimes it can be clear, and other times not so. For ideas that are simple and straightforward, I go to drawings; fast and relatable. For more developed ideas that work around the most important topics in my current state, I go to painting; massive and striking.

My existence and consciousness are the main subjects of my current work. It is the best starting point, since most or all of us start our adulthood wondering the same questions; Why are we here? What comes next? And where do I stand in all of this? My views on this are drawn, written, and painted.
