Edward Sutherland (1794-1885), a descendant of the Sutherlands of Cambusavie, Scotland, was an accomplished landscape artist, British army officer, innovative farmer, world traveller, and the grandfather of author Elinor Glyn and dress designer and Titanic survivor Lucy, Lady Duff-Gordon.
