Informazioni sull'autore
Artist Elizabeth Barlow was raised in Utah in a home surrounded by flower gardens created by her mother. Her father was the late artist Philip Barlow. After a period living in England, she relocated to San Francisco, where she opened her first studio. Her current series Flora Portraits began in 2016, not long after she completed a commission to paint a collector’s rose bush, the only survivor of a devastating wildfire. The work opened her eyes to the transformational power of flowers. Her series deepened further when she and her husband relocated to Carmel-by-the-Sea on the Monterey Peninsula. Her new studio, located in an historic church, looks out onto a lush flower garden.
