Paul McAlpine is an American photographer known primarily for his photographs of 1970-80’s Rock n’ Roll musicians. His photographs are in the collections of the LACMA, Los Angeles; MFA Boston; Victoria & Albert Museum, London (2021); Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (2022); De Young Museum, San Francisco (2022); Seattle Museum of Pop Culture (2023); San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (2024); Hard Rock Café, as well as various private collections internationally. Other books include Iggy Pop : Bare + Real published by Fat Possum Records / NY Tyrant Books (2019) limited to 1000 copies (sold out); stillness + isolation (friends edition 2021); Memories of Yesterday : 100 Japanese Postcards (2021); and then...(friends edition 2021 - other edition 2024); LOS T20 (friends edition 2024); 神保町の一夜 (2024); Tomodachi (private edition 2025); 朝の花 (private edition 2025); along with two private exhibition catalogues in collaboration with artists.
