The images in this book were taken during November 2009, in the former Royal Park Primary School in Leeds.



Dereliction is a place where one would not, perhaps, expect to find beauty. But beauty there is. Whilst we hope that the Royal Park School, left to fall into dereliction by Leeds City Council will eventually be restored, for good use and in a manner sympathetic with the original building, these images stand as a record of the beauty that can exist in decay. They are as much a part of the history of this building as the days when it was filled with voices and learning, and its hopeful future as a hub of the community.
