Simon Colgan grew up in Cornwall, the son of a well known Policeman. From a very early age cameras played a big part in Simon's life, having his first camera at the age of seven. It was only an Agfa clack but he loved it, and took it everywhere he went. By the late 70's he upgraded to a Kodak Instamatic, and developed his own images in his Fathers darkroom, who was also a keen photographer. Simon's brothers also played a part in shaping his career. Andrew his middle brother bought him his 1st SLR which was a Zenith and stevyn who is now a successful artist and writer also contributed to his career by giving him composition lessons and a new Olympus OM20. Simon left photography for a few years, due to work and family commitments but returned to it with a bang. He completed an HNC in commercial practice and is training to be a teacher. Simon is becoming very well known for his portraiture and most people know his style, he has models cueing up to become his next subject.
