« Little Theater »
This ungoing series of photographs explores humanistic and artistic themes. They are miniature sets that I've built myself with cardboard and poor materials and where I have included myself as the actor.
Within these images, there is a sense of time spent. It's a portrait of a journey. A battle through adversity, a liberation and a greater freedom at the end.
Here, there is constant play between imagination and autobiographical facts, between small, personal history and big history. Wars are fought, monumental sculptures are built and yet all this could fit in a shoebox or have happened in the virtual world of the computer. The work also deals with theatricality. There are many simulations but also their opposite: a quest for realness, a search to go beyond the image and to be more observant of substance.
