Informazioni sul libro
It was 1968. Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy had been assassinated. American cities were burning. The Democratic National Convention in Chicago became a bloody riot for the whole world to watch. Nixon was re-elected and the war in Vietnam went on and on despite massive protests.
Many young people couldn't continue to live in that version of American reality. We moved to the country. There we grew our own food, built our houses, raised our families, and set up an alternative culture, to the best of our ability.
Magic Forest Farm was one of many communes established in those tumultuous years. All sorts of experimental living arrangements formed, morphed, lived, and died in the late 60's and early 70's in America. Forty years later MFF survives, not alone, but in sparce company. The Farm is a place where the embers of environmetalism, collectivism, and living with a small footprint reside as a source of inspiration for a world longing for alternatives.
It has been 40 years. Current and former Farmers and friends come together to celebrate.
