The Avian influenza is a viral disease of birds. Most avian influenza virus strains cannot infect humans, however, the H5N1 virus can cause serious infections and lead to death. Outbreaks in poultry raises a worldwide health concern due to the contagious effect on poultry populations, the potential to spread, and become the next pandemic that can ultimately effect the entire world. It is our job to stop this deadly virus before the next pandemic begins.
