A story of one man's 3453 kilometre journey through Ethiopia by bicycle. Ethiopia is a tough place to connect with as a foreigner. Cycling enabled me in a small way to connect and empathise with the people, culture, history and landscape of this most proud, secretive and fascinating country.

Hi my name is Andy Bottomer and I am 51 years old. I returned to England in 2016 after 17 years overseas. I have been lucky enough to live in Uganda, Ethiopia, Nepal, Ghana and Malawi as well as travelling and cycling in Central and South America. During my time I have always kept diaries and taken photographs. These diary style photographic books are the result. I now live Alnwick in Northumberland.
