Highlights of a 5-week self-driven trip across New Zealand in March/April 2011, by a couple of senior Canadians. The book contains a selection of about 200 photographs carefully chosen from a collection of over 3000 taken by the authors. Text is attached to each photo describing the various scenes and expressing the authors personal views about different aspects of the country including history, culture, society in general, driving, roads, scenery, photography, wildlife, vegetation, geology and much more.

I'm a world traveler who enjoys nature and adventures of all kinds. I have explored much of the known world on business and for pleasure, most extensively in Europe, Africa, North and South America, India and China. From 1995 to the day I retired (June 2008), I managed International Development projects for the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), mostly in Latin America and Africa. Before 1995, I worked as a geologist in Canada mostly on projects related to mineral exploration in the Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Quebec and Saskatchewan. In my spare time, I like to travel, take pictures (photography) and research my family history (genealogy). I've been retired since June 2008, which means that I can now do all the things that I've always wanted to do but never had time before. This includes compiling a large proportion of the thousands of photographs that I’ve taken since 1969, when I bought my first camera, into illustrated story books.
