Lesley smiled, “Lynn. You know I love you, right?”

Lynn cocked at eye at her. “Yeah. So?”

“So, are you happy?”

In the silence that followed, Lynn looked at her friend, through her, seeing other thoughts and images play out in front of her eyes.

“Happy,” she echoed. “I don’t know, Lesley. You tell me what happiness is, then I’ll tell you if that’s what I am.”
