I am a writer, photographer, an award-winning television producer and a minister. In addition to my commercial work, I have contributed to several published devotional collections. In Rainer Maria Rilke’s Letters to a Young Poet, Rilke’s famous words of advice (to all artists) got my attention: “Go within and scale the depths of your being from which your very life springs forth”. Born and raised in Appalachia, I have read and written poetry from my earliest memory. I have also been taught the Bible since before I could speak. And I started working in television as a teenager because of a visual gift. This book is my first attempt at combining all these elements: poetry, the Bible, photography, and Appalachia. These are the things I discovered in the deep.
