Informazioni sul libro
In 2008, for the third year running, a team of Murdoch University Chiropractic Students went to India providing free Chiropractic care to the people of Siliguri (West Bengal). Some of their patients were as young as two, performing "back breaking" work, crushing stones for a living.
Associate Professor Brian Nook, Dean of the School of Chiropractic and Sports Science said “The reality in these communities is that children aged 2 to 14 have to help their families earn a living rock breaking, and face appalling living conditions coupled with inadequate health care. This is a fantastic initiative by our students who are committed to the cause and have paid for their own airfares and associated personal costs. It provides a much needed community service to the people in India who are hungry for our support and request our services.”
To ensure this is an ongoing annual project, the students are seeking sponsorship and donations to help cover equipment, medical and interpreter costs, transport in Siliguri and ongoing rehabilitation programs in India. 50% of profits from each copy of this book sold will go towards future Chiropractic Student Trips to Siliguri.
