21 men dressed in black to symbolise the 21 years since the attack and a two minute silence was held to remember the dead.
More than 200 people joined the march to a memorial service to remember the tragic day during the Iran-Iraq war in 1988, which is thought to be the world’s worst ever chemical attack.
Saddam Hussein’s Iraqi forces massacred thousands of Iraqi Kurds using chemical weapons, now banned under international law.
As many as 5,000 Kurds were killed instantly and about 10,000 were injured.
Thousands more died later from injuries and diseases caused by the gas. Many are still suffering today both physically and emotionally.
