This book of photographs of places is of a piece with another book I’ve made, "Out of Sorts," which is a collection of photographs of people made during the years 2009-2015. The photographs in this companion book were made in nice neighborhoods, booming industrial zones, and vibrant shopping districts. Nevertheless, in the photographs the places are stressed, lonely, and, in many cases, quite barren.
