They come armed with cameras, selfie sticks, guide books and packed lunches to savour the atmosphere of this 'pastiche' that is 'Cool Britania', which visitors believe is the real London. They come to see the guardsmen outside Buckingham Palace with their nineteenth century pomp and ceremony and the equally iconic Beefeaters at the Tower of London, extras in a cultural backdrop of the capitals tourist industry.
