Informazioni sul libro
In the summer of 2016 the studio explored strategies to connect the revitalization initiatives that have taken place south of 7th Street in Downtown Cincinnati, with the renaissance that has happened and is still occurring in Over-the-Rhine. The studio developed strategies and visions to animate and revitalize the area between Central Parkway and 7th Street in the Central Business District, an area that students have decided to call Midtown. The study area has offered planning students the opportunity to develop skills to identify opportunities and address urban concerns such as urban transformation, safety, mobility, housing, community engagement, cultural resources, neighborhood identity, use and meaning of public spaces.
The studio has collaborated and joined forces with community members potentially affected by the visions and strategies: such as residents, stakeholders, property and business owners, and public officials from the City of Cincinnati, as well from Hamilton County and the Public Library. Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) has supported and actively partnered with the studio. Managers and employees of 3CDC have joined the studio every week to provide professional feedback.
