My work has often focused on that of landscape, travel, place and non-place. As an extension to, as well as a move away from previous work, this book aims to capture the ephemeral that we live amongst, the antithesis of travel. With the use of macro-photography I have selected subject matter found in domestic environments, more specifically that of insects and natural objects. Insects in particular can share our domestic space, sometimes surviving, though often becoming trapped by accident or by design. Through their transient nature they create a simple link to an external space. I am interested in the relationship we have with borders and boundaries and the interface they create with worlds, inside and outside.
