Informazioni sul libro
Over 100 days in the summer of 2009, I fulfilled a long-standing dream and traveled (mostly) overland through 10 countries in Southeast Asia.
I visited the birthplace of Buddha. I saw the highest mountain peak in the world, Mt. Everest. I explored a rainforest on elephantback and took a train across the arid Rajasthan Desert. I visited some of the world's most ancient and most modern cities: Delhi, Bangkok, Kathmandu, Kuala Lumpur. I traveled through Buddhist, Hindu, Muslim, and Christian countries. I climbed two active volcanoes. I marveled at the wonder of Angkor Wat and the equally impressive wonder of a modern Cambodia. I observed flying squirrels and flying foxes in their native habitats. I literally traveled around the world, flying east from Los Angeles to Delhi, and again from Sydney to Los Angeles.
And while I traveled, I took over 10,000 photographs. With this book I aim to share not only the visual beauty of Asia, but also the wonder, charm, and warmth that I encountered from Delhi to Bali.
