Informazioni sul libro
The photographs present a unique visual analysis of certain traits that reflect the vitality interpretation of the lifecycle of some of the world’s most imposing cities, such as New York, Chicago, Tokyo and Mexico City and a possible evolution into abandonment. In times of economic crisis, water shortages and extreme pollution, such an idea rings deep within readers.
Through this work, Guillaume Corpart Muller, Ragnar Chacín and Jan Smith propose a three-fold view of the urban world: the first springs from the evolution of architectural elements and the way in which construction gives cities a vital character; the second emerges from he exaltation of presence or absence of the human element within cities.
The presentation closes by exploring the essence of cities as a border between their own identity and human abandonment.
