Informazioni sul libro
The Making Her Mark exhibition was one of the most ambitious undertakings ever staged by the Providence Art Club in its 137-year history. It included three principal components: the curated Making Her Mark museum-quality exhibition featuring the works of many of our clubs early women artists; the Making Her Mark Archival Exhibition, featuring artifacts and exhibits that told the nearly-forgotten stories of these pioneering women; and a major symposium conducted by noted experts in the field of women artists of this period.
This full color, 68-page catalogue relives the exhibitions as an everlasting tribute to these women who substantially shaped the Providence Art Club’s mission and helped pave the way for women artists in America for decades to come.

The Providence Art Club
Providence, Rhode Island
Founded in 1880 to stimulate the appreciation of art in the community, the Providence Art Club has long been a place for artists and art patrons to congregate, create, display and circulate works of art. Located along Thomas Street, in the shadow of the First Baptist Church, the Providence Art Club is a picturesque procession of historic houses, home to studios, galleries and the clubhouse. Through its public programs, its art instruction classes for members and its active exhibition schedule, the Providence Art Club continues a tradition of sponsoring and supporting the visual arts in Providence and throughout Rhode Island.
