Scrappy, forty-year-old Karl yearns to connect with a normal life, but unfortunately, he’s an artist by birth. That’s right; he sees the decay and beauty of the everyday world around him and hoards its living essence within a fifty-two page talisman of his own narcissistic self-expression. What a cushy occupation.
In order to avoid a real job, he must live among the absurdity and hormonal nostalgia of popular culture while longing for the heroic inspiration of name-dropping history’s great creators: Homer, Maya Angelou, Bruce Lee, William Blake, Kurt Vonnegut, James Baldwin, Billie Holiday, Martha Graham, Viola Frey, Mark Twain, Louis Armstrong, even his own father. And knowing that their passing means that he too is gonna die, seeks to prevent introspection through sarcastic misdirection at any cost.
Karl must make the the hardest choice of all, risk sincerity and attempt honest human connection, or hide behind clichéd word games and abusive exclamation marks!
